Lycopene is a carotenoid found in many fruits and vegetables. It has been proven to protect against sun damage, both short and long term. Not only has Lycopene been proven to provide a natural barrier agains sunburn (up to 33%), but it has also been shown to protect against skin damage and sun-induced skin aging.
Make sure to load up on Lycopene rich foods such as tomatoes, watermelon, papaya, carrots, and mango during the summer months to give yourself an extra boost of protection!
